CULVER LTD Decanter & Wine Glasses Set of 6 Valencia Mid Century 22k Gold

The most stunning set of stemware with decanter, I have ever seen. Vintage collins wine glasses with stoppered Decanter. Made by Culver in the Valencia pattern. Production ceased in the 1960's.

They dazzle the eye with their timeless beauty. Set of 6 stemmed wine glasses with green diamond insets among the thickly laid down, 22k gold pattern.

And measure 5.3/4" high Decanter is 10.1/2" tall and holds approx 40 oz. They are in superb condition. Used only on those very special occasions. Seriously, who could risk tarnishing the gold or chipping the glass. They are each a work of art.

These are original Culver made glass blanks that have been decorated by the secret process of heat firing 22k Gold to glass. Unfortunately this secret died along with the last known member of the family that had been involved with the business, on 9/11/2001. Culver later gave up making their own glass in the 1980's, when they started using blanks from Libby. After the Valencia pattern came out, popularity in Culver Glass exploded, they were soon to be found in the finest department stores. The process of high heat firing 22k Gold onto the glass for permanence, was kept close to the vest by the family & employees.

Culver Ltd (Culver Glass) was founded in Brooklyn, NY in 1939. The company produced over 75 glassware patterns, but is best known for its mid-century designs. The Culver signature appeared on most of its mid-century designs.

At first, Culver's mid-century glassware was signed in script. Later, the company turned to block lettering followed by gold foil labels.
