Set of 6 Wine/ Water Glasses. VSOE Motif. Venice-Simplon Orient Express. Train

This is a lot of 6 large stemmed glasses, for wines or water, which have a very grand goblet shape which feels comfortably luxurious in the hand. These glasses come from an estate and have been wrapped in 1680s newspaper, which dates them to the 1960s or earlier.

They come from the restaurant car of the Venice-Simplon Orient Express, probably the most famous train in the world. Each shows the motif VSOE which has been etched into the glass, with a crown above. This is a fantastic set for home dining and obviously would make an exceptional gift for a lover of Railwayana and the Orient Express.

Glasses are all in equally excellent condition without fault. Round base gives onto a shaped step with integral bulb. Glasses' bowls are softly faceted which does not continue to the rim. These have been designed to be comfortably to hold and pleasurable to drink from, made possible by the aforementioned details. Condition is 100%/ Grade A.

I would not wash these in a dishwasher. Diameter at Rim: 90 mm.
